HIRING: Email Support @ TaskUs, BGC, Taguig City

Few days ago, me and my girlfriend tried to apply for an email support post from TaskUs. We found them on Jobstreet.com. The offer was above our expected salary (PHP 20,000.00/month). My gf was emailed first prior to our walk-in. She was asked to bring 2 copies of our resume and a valid ID for building’s entrance via text. Matiyaga sila sa pagte-text, in fairness.

Their application process is said to be for 1 whole day only with the following procedures:

Registration-Initial Exam-Final Exam-Initial Interview-Final Interview-Job Offer

The registration is an input of your personal information, educational background, work experiences, character references and some questions may be applicable for foreign applicants. Along with that we were given a 30-minute 3 item online exam in which our goal is to write 2 essays with 10 full lines with a minimum of 5 sentences and an answer to an email query with free writing. Both exams are required for us to compose correct grammar, punctuation and creativity.

Both essays are given with a choice of 5 questions. Coincidentally, me and my girlfriend wrote same answer for the first question so we were asked to have another exam. This time it’s an hour exam with 5 items. The same instructions were given. However, the exam now includes 2 essays and 3 email responses.

Unfortunately, I did not make it to the second exam. Luckily, my gf did. We went there after lunch at around 2 pm. There application starts from 8 am to 5 pm. So, gf was asked to go back the next day to continue.

TaskUs is located at 20/F Picadily Star Building, 4th Avenue cor 27th St., Bonifacio Global City, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Application is open Mondays to Fridays.

LA BATALLA: Clash of the Bands 2014

“La Batalla: Clash of the Bands”

When: September 10, 2014. 5pm onwards.
Where: TCU Auditorium, Upper Bicutan
What: A night of TCU students battle of the bands and Letter Day Story guesting.

Bethel, the president of First Beat, my bandmate and my friend who organized the event invited me and our friend and AoS guitarist Marlon to play some music and guest for this event with his bandmate MJ in Lost in Story, the 2 consecutive champion in 2011 & 2012.

We covered songs of Rocksteddy and played after the 10 band contestants and as if we were the front-act of the main guest band, Letter Day Story. Marlon & Michael/MJ were also the two of 5 judges for the contest.

Photos are taken by me and by our official photographer, Mina – Marlon’s gf.

Marlon fetched me so early at 2pm to go straight the TCU Auditorium to prepare (which I don’t know what to prepare for).

Students in the area (playing/practicing badmiton, dancing, or just standing by) were asked to go outside for preparation and registration at 4pm.

One of my favorite performance from a guest band.

Now, it’s the 9th band, El Gracia’s turn who championed the battle.

I recorded videos of their performance of Mang Jose on my YouTube channel @ http://www.youtube.com/JDCgallery

SPOTTED: The son of El Gracia’s drummer watching his dad playing. Cool, isn’t it?

Now, it’s our turn to play as guest band. Lost in Stereo is a band created and founded by Michael, our vocals and guitarist there and Bethel, our drummer.

Here’s our performance of Rocksteddy’s “Superhero”:

Finally, the most awaited part of the event – the arrival and the performance of the Letter Day Story at 10pm (overtime) as invited by the organizer. Cool performance!

Check out my capture of their opening song:

Dexter was on fire. The audience and us on stage are hooked!

So that was it. I will add photos soon. All photos are uploaded on my Facebook album at http://www.facebook.com/mjdaxen. Wew! We (our band) actually fail to take our own photos. 😦

Some of the photos were uploaded on my Instagram account. Rock on!
