Umapas Bakery | North Daang Hari, Taguig City

Today’s famous and the only 24/7 opened bakery in our town is the Umapas Bakery, located at the the edge of Road 1, NDH, Taguig City.

In its first year, (sometime in 2005 I think) they only display and sell variety of bread and a peso Pandesal. Their pandesal is quite tasty and thicker than the other old bakeries in the place. One bread I favorited back then were Choco-roll and  Ube-roll solos for P5.00. The next year, they started renovating and adding cakes on their menu. Not even reaching the next year, they were became the most visited by the people living here in our town and the other years later they have defeated a very famous and very old small bakery 3 blocks away from them who closed and eventually became a little hardware in our place.

Running its first decade, they are innovating by baking and serving new breads and cakes which are already available today.

Me, as a residence here often buy Pandesal for breakfast here and some of my favorites are the Ensaymada for P6.00, Slice of Banana Bread for P9.00, their own Chocolate Tasty Bread P45.00 for a pack, a Loaf of Chocolate Bread and a lot more.

If you are to visit, it is located inside the town, you need to walk-in from the arch of NDH if you pass by Bicutan sidewalk going back and forth the SM Bicutan by the MMDA footbridge in front of DOST.

Meisters: Big Burgers, Big Chicken, Big Meals

Nagkita sa Ayala upang pumunta sa Market! Market! It was a rainy Sunday, we decided to go and buy groceries instead sa SM Ayala, Makati pero bago yan we need to feed and fill our gutom that passed lunch time.

Initially, we agreed to eat at Outback Churva.. kaso kulang pala ang aming budjey! ayun hunting ng makakainan sa Glorietta (para lang hindi na mapalyao sa SM). Then we found “Meisters” 🙂

My Combo Meal: Quarter Pounder Burger, Spaghetti with Bolognese sauce, French Fries and Iced Tea

Bolognese is perfect for the spaghetti. It tastes really good. Nasimot ko sya as in. 🙂 The fries though are like the regular ones you eat at every foodchain.. at mejo matabang. Then that big beef patty burger was the ultimatum of it all. For me it tastes better than Brothers Burger. The patty was generous in size and the coslow and cheese was perfect to balance its taste. #TwoThumbsUp 🙂

Pinatikim sakin ni Lyra yung “Carbonara” nya (by the way, the pasta is a choice of your sauce. Ikaw bahala sa sauce wether it’s meatball, bolognese or white sauce.) Masarap yung white pasta at tasty yung chicken specially the roasted skin. Hmmm yum! And it’s perfectly partnered by mashed potato on the side. Cool!
